Stephan is Going to Meet Warren Buffett

We just found out that Stephan is going to get to meet Warren Buffett THIS SUMMER! Not just meet him, but spend the several days hanging out and dinning with him while chatting about the book, “The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life” by Alice Schroeder.

Stephan is beyond excited to meet the legendary “Oracle of Omaha”.  You may be asking yourself how in the world is he getting this once in a life time experience?  Wake Forest University students from the Working Professional MBA programs in Winston-Salem and Charlotte, had the opportunity to apply for to meet the highly respected American businessman, owner of Berkshire Hathaway, investor and philanthropist by not only submitting an essay, but also being among the highest rated students in their class. Now that’s a real accomplishment in itself.

Here is a sneek peak at some of the things they may do while in Omaha:

  • A guided-tour of the 500,000-plus-square-foot Nebraska Furniture Mart, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, with Robert Batt, who is the executive vice president and grandson of founder Rose Blumkin
  • Visit Buffett’s downtown office for a 2.5-hour question-and-answer session with Buffett himself
  • Buffett will take the students to lunch at one of his favorite local restaurants, Piccolo Pete’s, where they might dined on steak, parmesan chicken and root beer floats.  After lunch they will have the opportunity to have their photo taken and speak one-on-one with Buffett
  • Tour of Borsheim’s, a jewelry store owned by Berkshire Hathaway, and a question-and-answer session with Susan Jacques, CEO of Borsheim’s

We are trying to come up with funny photo ideas for Stephan’s picture with Warren Buffett. He really wants to wear a “I’m with Stupid” shirt with an arrow that points to Mr. Buffett. Funny or insulting?

More to come… after the trip!
