Happy Valentine’s Day!
Take time today to stop and smell the
roses! Well… these may be weeds growing in our yard, but at least they have flowers!

Valentine’s Day Update:
Are we celebrating tonight: No… Actually, you may remember we just celebrated our 5 year Anniversary on Friday night. We like to just roll V’Day into that special occasion every year, it make it sooo much easier. Plus, that opens the 14th up for me to hang with my Ladies!
Here’s the scoop on Friday night: After picking Kendall up from school, we rush home to check on Penny and Boone (the doggies), slip on a little black dress, slap on some red lipstick, and finish curling this mop on top my head. I have to say, I was feeling a little sexy! Stephan is always so very punctual, so we were in the car and heading over to Mimi and Big “G”s (my parents) by 6:15pm to drop Kendall off for the night. Here is where thing get strange. Usually, Stephan is in and out when it comes to dropping Kendall off… but not this time. First, he takes off his coat, then sits down to chat, and next thing you know he is fixing some sweet tea in my mom’s kitchen. Whaaaat? Are you kidding! After all that rushing, and now you want to sit and relax before dinner. Little did I know what he was planning…
LIMO TIME! Yes, we had been waiting for the limo to arrive. A long, white, stretch limo. I know you want to see pictures, right? Sorry, my phone’s camera is busted thank to the tot putting her finger through it. But back to the story…
After driving around downtown, I’m certain we are heading to The Palm for dinner. This is where Stephan proposed, and we have dinner every Christmas Eve. (He proposed on Christmas Eve.) Wrong yet again. We went to Bentley’s on 27th! Now, this is special, because we had our rehearsal dinner at Bentley’s. Stephan said the thought that I would think we were going to The Palm and wanted to surprise me with Bentley’s … well done Sir, well done.
We had the best seat in the house at the restaurant, right on the dance floor, over looking the entire city. (They call it Bentley’s on 27th because its on the 27th floor, and give you the most amazing view of the entire city.) After starting with the scrip cocktail and salad, I ordered the sole with roasted veggies because I’m still trying to be a little healthy at the point. Stephan orders the Bourbon Filet Mignon with twice backed potatoes… yumm.
So, I was trying to eat health but they brought out a creme brulee and I could not resist. It was the best creme brulee I have ever had… ever! Not so healthy Leslie. But it gets worse. After dinner we get back in the limo and head to The Melting Pot for what… another desert. Who can resist cake, fruit, marshmallows and more dipped into melted chocolate with caramel and candied pecans! SO FULL.. can not move!
The limo drives us all around Charlotte so we can see the lights and watch the people, and then drops us back off at home for a full nights sleep uninterrupted by the tot jumping in the bed or calling for “Mommy” and “Daddy” in the morning. BEST DATE NIGHT EVER!
Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day today!
